It is my goal to not only be your makeup and hair magician but also to be the your bouncing board for all of your stress!! If you don’t have a wedding coordinator, wedding day timelines can be too much for a bride to handle along with everything else, especially if they are not natural planners! Luckily enough, you have wedding vendors like me to hold your hand during this process!
How long will it take?
As for the blushing bride, we like to schedule out 1.5-2 hours! We always like to have some extra special time with the bride to work on her wedding day look.
What do you want your morning to look like?
Are you having a fabulous brunch on your wedding day?! Or are you sleeping in to catch some extra Z’s?
When thinking about your wedding day, you really need to consider what you want your morning to look like. If you are just focusing on getting through everyone’s hair and makeup then I always like to suggest paying the extra to get a second stylist to come in and help get everyone done faster! It can save you some time and some stress.
The biggest take away is to remember to leave some time in your morning for you to relax with your loved ones! You don’t want to be running around like a chicken with their head cut off trying to get ready and do last minute things! Take care of your last minute to-dos the week before and you will watch the stress melt away.
Beauty Timeline Example
I wanted to provide for y’all a good example of what a typical Saturday wedding day timeline looks for us!
We create customized timelines for each and every bride. We always want to make sure that it lines up with what they want their morning to look like, how many services need to get done and their time restrictions. Most glamming times run from 9:00 am until about 2:00 pm so plan to be getting ready way longer than the guys!!
Buffer Time
Not everyone does this, but I always like to try to build in some buffer time if its possible. This might be an extra 30 minutes at the end or an extra 15 minutes in between bridesmaids. This allows us to catch our breath and relax a little bit before moving on to the next client!
The buffer time also allows for mishaps that might happen on wedding days because we all know that what can go wrong, will go wrong!! Maybe the bridal party is running a little late and we have to push the timeline back 15 minutes or maybe the bride hit traffic coming in. The buffer time is the perfect way to add a little bit of backup plan!
No stressing allowed!
I know this is more of a stressful task but like I said before, lean on your vendors for this! You chose your people for a reason and they should be able to help you with your timeline in every way they can! Your wedding vendors aren’t just there to show up on the day of and do that exact job. We sign up for so much more than our titles and I think that that is one of the best parts of being in the wedding industry!
